FNB has unveiled an exciting collaboration with Spar, introducing a new opportunity for FNB Private customers to earn eBucks rewards on their purchases at Spar stores.

In an official statement released on Thursday (1 February), the bank revealed its latest addition to its partner network, which already includes prominent names like Shoprite, Checkers, Takealot, Engen, and Clicks.

Under this partnership, FNB Private Clients, Private Wealth, and RMB Private Bank clients can now earn up to 15% back in eBucks when shopping at Spar, Superspar, Kwikspar, and Tops using their eligible FNB or RMB Private Bank virtual cards.

Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB Private Segment, highlighted the significance of expanding the bank’s partner ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of providing customers with enhanced value and convenience, especially during challenging economic circumstances.

Blake Raubenheimer, Spar Group’s Omnichannel Executive, expressed Spar’s commitment to offering customers value-for-money products and adapting to meet evolving economic demands.

FNB’s eBucks rewards will complement the existing benefits of the Spar Rewards card, offering customers access to exclusive monthly deals and promotions to aid in cost savings.

Zamabomvu Ngubane, Head of FNB eBucks Rewards, emphasized the decision to expand the eBucks rewards’ grocery partners and benefits, reflecting the bank’s response to the challenging economic climate and rising living costs.

Customers can earn eBucks rewards based on their account type, reward level, and payment method, with virtual card transactions offering higher earning rates compared to physical card payments. Payment via the FNB app or linked digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Garmin Pay on smartphones or smartwatches is necessary to utilize virtual cards.

It’s important to note that eBucks rewards cannot be earned at Spar Express, Pharmacy @ Spar, or Savemor stores. See the table below for a summary of eBucks earnings for FNB Private customers based on their account type, reward level, and payment method.
