The collaboration introduces TMO Rides, a service that combines Treepz’s mobility platform with CMS T&M’s transport operations. The initial rollout will cover the CMS–Ajah corridor, where passengers will be able to pay fares electronically instead of using cash.

Founded in 2019, Treepz provides technology that connects passengers with scheduled transport services while helping bus operators manage bookings, ticketing and fleet operations through a digital platform. The company, formerly known as Plentywaka, rebranded to Treepz in 2021 as it expanded its mobility services.

Digital Payments for Public Transport

Passengers using the new service will receive TMO Cards, allowing them to pay for trips electronically. The companies say the system is intended to reduce cash transactions, simplify boarding and improve the overall travel experience. For CMS T&M, the platform introduces digital ticketing and provides access to operational data that can help monitor fleet performance, manage revenue and improve service delivery.

Supporting Smarter Transport Services

CMS T&M Managing Director Andrew Akhigbe said the transport operator has spent nearly six decades serving commuters in Lagos and continues to invest in solutions that improve public transport.

He said the introduction of TMO Rides reflects the company’s efforts to make everyday travel more convenient while adopting technology that supports a more efficient transport system. The partnership also reflects the growing use of digital platforms across Africa’s mobility sector. Transport operators are increasingly adopting electronic ticketing and cashless payment systems to improve operational efficiency while giving passengers more convenient ways to access public transport.

Together, the companies raised more than $500
