Maputo-based strategic advisory firm Licínio Chissano and Partners (LCP) has launched a new initiative to support high-growth technology startups and climate resilience ventures, beginning with a pilot programme in Mozambique.

The initiative will focus on early-stage businesses in FinTech, Logistics, AgriTech, HealthTech, EdTech and ClimateTech. According to LCP, the programme is designed to help startups strengthen their operations, improve governance and prepare for investment from angel investors, venture capital firms, impact funds and development partners.

Mozambique Pilot Begins

As part of the pilot, LCP has selected 20 Mozambique-based startups to receive advisory support. Participating companies will receive assistance with business structuring, operational planning and investment readiness to help position them for future growth.

LCP said the Mozambique programme serves as a proof of concept and is intended to become a model for expansion into other African markets.

Connecting Startups With Investors

Operating independently of the firm’s existing corporate advisory business, the new initiative will allow LCP to expand its support for startups without affecting services provided to current clients. Improving startups’ access to funding is another objective. LCP said it is working with angel investors, venture capital firms, family offices, donor organisations and impact investors while helping startups establish investment structures that facilitate capital raising.

The firm is also inviting investors, corporate partners and development organisations to participate as the programme grows. LCP said the initiative aims to strengthen Africa’s innovation ecosystem by helping promising technology and climate-focused businesses secure the capital needed to scale across the continent.
