HONOR Releases MagicOS 8.0 for Magic V2 Series

The global technology leader, HONOR has officially launched MagicOS 8.0 for its HONOR Magic V2 Series. Starting today, users of the HONOR Magic V2 and PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic V2 RSR can download the update directly from their device’s Settings menu. Built on Android 14, MagicOS 8.0 introduces an AI-driven intent-based user interface (IUI) with innovative features like Magic Portal. This update also enhances user interface design, performance, privacy, and battery efficiency, boosting productivity and convenience through advanced on-device AI.

AI-Powered Smart Features for Enhanced Convenience and Efficiency

MagicOS 8.0 on the HONOR Magic V2 Series leverages platform-level AI to improve the device’s ability to understand and anticipate user needs, enriching the overall user experience. One of the standout features, Magic Portal, uses AI to streamline interactions by recommending shortcuts based on user intent. This feature allows users to effortlessly switch and access services across apps and devices with a simple swipe. By dragging content to the side of the screen, users can interact with a curated selection of apps tailored to their preferences. Magic Portal supports over 100 popular apps, including LINE, WhatsApp, Google suite apps, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and eBay.

To further enhance user convenience, MagicOS 8.0 introduces platform-level personal assistant capabilities. The “My Day” feature scans app content and summarizes events, meetings, notes, and other interactions, providing users with a clear and concise overview of their daily activities.

Human-Centric Customization for Superior User Experience

HONOR has meticulously designed MagicOS 8.0 with a focus on human-centric factors to deliver an exceptional user experience. Application start-up and exit animations, along with app switching, have been refined to be more natural and unobtrusive. MagicOS 8.0 also introduces Magic Capsule, a feature that expands banner notifications on both the outer and inner displays, allowing users to access additional information related to the notification without navigating through multiple apps. The new Ultra Power Saving Mode includes a toggle that significantly reduces battery consumption, extending battery life.

Users can create custom shortcuts by pressing and holding their desired apps, adjust folder sizes and positions on the home screen, and manage stacking desktop cards for a more personalized experience. Additionally, MagicOS 8.0 enables users to customize their camera modes’ layout, prioritizing frequently used modes to streamline the photography experience.

Privacy and Security Enhanced by Platform-Level AI

The HONOR Magic V2 Series prioritizes user privacy, ensuring personal data is securely processed on the device. MagicOS 8.0 introduces “Blur Private Info,” a feature in the Share menu that allows users to easily redact sensitive information, such as names, passwords, and contact numbers, from images.
