Honda Prologue Debus at CES

Honda has Unveiled its new EV, the Prologue, at the world’s largest Tech show – CES in Las Vegas yesterday.

The Prologue 0, EV range is set to be launched as a mid-priced EV that simply gets the job done. The EV’s have a futuristic sleek aerodynamic design and are the result of a partnership between the Honda and the American Auto giant GM.

Honda EV Development Focus

The Japanese auto manufacturer has upped its game regarding EV development, and has recently also joined in partnership with Nissan and Mitsubishi to develop joint projects in the EV sector. They have launched two new prototypes, unveiled at CES: The Honda 0 SUV, a midsize SUV, and the Honda 0 Saloon.

The Prologue 0 SUV is due out in early 2026 with the Saloon model set to launch towards the end of 2026.

Both models will be manufactured at a new assembly plant built in Ohio US, and will both use the Honda developed Asimo operating system purpose built for the EV models that was named after Honda’s now discontinued humanoid robot built in the late 1990’s.

Major EV Developments Planned

Honda has set itself “big hairy and audacious goals” to develop a minimum of 30 new EV models within five years, as part of its strategic push into the EV market. By 2040, the Japanese automaker wants to only be selling zero-emission vehicles.

At a spectacular presentation at CES 2025, Honda’s leadership team highlighted its development in AI applications in vehicles that will lead to advanced autonomous operation. Their plan is to provide options to enable its vehicles to operate fully autonomously and integrate with drivers’ preferences.

Honda provided a promotional video showing a driver piloting a sometimes-autonomous Saloon EV, as lights and music adapted to the mood of the driver.

As a result of tech advances, the company developed Helm.ai will help Honda develop advanced driver assistance features, including “eyes-off” technology that will permit drivers to look away from the road in particular situations.

Honda also said Tuesday it planned to partner with the Japanese firm Renesas Electronics Corporation to develop a new high-performance chip for the 0 Series.
