Core Group has opened applications for a Microsoft Surface reseller programme that targets small and medium sized IT businesses in South Africa. The programme allows approved resellers to supply Microsoft’s Surface for Business devices while receiving technical training, product support and sales resources from Core, Microsoft’s authorised Surface distributor. The company says the programme is intended for IT businesses that already work with commercial customers and want to add Surface devices to their product range.
Focus on business customers
Resellers accepted into the programme will be able to offer Microsoft’s Surface for Business portfolio, including Copilot+ PCs, to organisations looking to replace or expand their computer fleets. Core will also provide product training, technical assistance and marketing support to participating partners. Many smaller IT companies already provide Microsoft 365 services, cloud support and device management. Surface hardware gives those businesses another product to offer existing customers.
AI PCs become part of the conversation
The programme comes as businesses begin considering AI capable computers alongside routine hardware upgrades. Surface Copilot+ PCs include dedicated neural processing units that process supported AI workloads on the device. They also integrate with Microsoft’s Windows and Microsoft 365 software used by many businesses. For resellers, that means customers upgrading their PCs may also be looking at hardware that supports Microsoft’s latest AI tools.
Applications are now open
Core says the programme is open to South African IT resellers that can demonstrate experience supporting business customers. John Press, Surface business unit head at Core Group, said the initiative is intended to increase the number of South African partners selling Microsoft’s Surface devices while providing the technical and commercial support needed to do so. Applications for the reseller programme are now open.
