Cell C has officially announced the appointment of Bryan O’Donovan as Chief Data & Analytics Officer, effective May 2024. In this role, O’Donovan will be leading the management of the organization’s data and analytics assets, driving data-driven decision-making processes and leveraging data assets to fuel growth and optimization initiatives.

With a career spanning 19 years in actuarial science, financial services, and telecommunications, O’Donovan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. His track record is marked by exceptional problem-solving skills, strategic acumen, and analytical prowess.

Prior to joining Cell C, O’Donovan held key leadership roles, including Managing Executive positions at Vodacom South Africa, where he played a central role in shaping pricing strategies, providing financial leadership, and driving informed decision-making processes. His extensive tenure at Hollard Insurance, spanning over 15 years, further solidified his expertise in investments, product development, and operational governance.

Jorge Mendes, CEO of Cell C, highlighted the significance of O’Donovan’s appointment, stating, “Bryan’s appointment underscores our commitment to leveraging data and analytics to drive innovation and enhance customer experiences. A distinguished alumnus of the University of Witwatersrand, O’Donovan holds a Bachelor of Economic Science in Actuarial Science and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Actuarial Science and Maths of Finance. He is also a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries as well as the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
