ASUS has opened a flagship store in Lagos through a partnership with Konga. The new outlet gives the technology company a dedicated retail presence in Nigeria. Located in Computer Village, Ikeja, the store stocks ASUS laptops, gaming devices, creator laptops and other computing products. ASUS says it is the company’s first flagship store in Africa.The opening supports ASUS’ plans to sell more products through dedicated retail stores as it grows its business in Africa. Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, attended the official opening. ASUS and Konga executives, business partners and invited guests also attended the event.
Building a Direct Retail Presence
The store allows customers to see ASUS products before buying them. They can also speak to product specialists and receive after sales support.Aaron Tsai, General Manager for ASUS Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said the partnership with Konga will help the company reach more customers in Nigeria. “Our partnership with Konga enables us to bring the ASUS experience directly to customers in one of Africa’s most vibrant technology markets,” he said.
Konga Expands Its Product Offering
The partnership adds another international technology brand to Konga’s retail business. Chief Operating Officer Dave Omoregie said customers will have access to genuine ASUS products, product advice and technical support. “Together with ASUS, we are making premium technology more accessible to Nigerians while providing product expertise and after sales support,” he said.
Competition in Nigeria’s PC Market
Nigeria remains one of Africa’s largest consumer technology markets. Demand for laptops and other computing devices continues to grow across businesses, schools and households. The flagship store gives ASUS another route to market. It also strengthens the company’s partnership with Konga. For Konga, the agreement expands its technology offering. It also adds another global brand to its retail portfolio as competition in Nigeria’s consumer electronics market increases.
