Apple Inc. has revealed refreshed models of its MacBook Air, which are available in 13-inch and 15-inch versions, featuring slightly faster M3 processors and reduced prices compared to previous versions.
The new MacBook Air with the M3 chip is set to be 1.6 times faster than the 2020 M1 version and significantly outpaces Intel Corp.’s latest variations from a few years ago, boasting a 13 times improvement. The laptops run on a third-generation Apple-designed Mac processor.
While the processor speed is not substantially upgraded, the M3 chip offers advanced graphics, including ray-tracing, enhancing gaming quality with a graphics engine nearly six times faster than the 2020 MacBook Air. Additionally, the M3 MacBook Air models allow connectivity to two external monitors simultaneously.
The pricing structure sees a reduction in the M2 13-inch MacBook Air, now priced at $999. The M3 13-inch model starts at $1099, and the 15-inch version begins at $1299. All base configurations include 8 gigabytes of RAM, with options for upgrades up to 24 gigabytes.
