Meta’s president, Nick Clegg, emphasizes the benefits of open development for wider accessibility and safety. Notably absent from the coalition is OpenAI, amid recent controversies concerning transparency in AI development.
“We believe it’s better when AI is developed openly — more people can access the benefits, build innovative products and work on safety,” Nick Clegg said in the statement.
