Nigerian Startup Fylings Adds Mining Data to Company Intelligence Platform
Nigerian startup Fylings has expanded its company intelligence platform to include mining-sector data. The system already covers companies across 18 African countries. Founded by Precious Okeke, the platform combines company records with information on procurement contracts, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening and maritime intelligence. Users can search the database in plain language or access the information through an API.
Sandvik Turns Rock Bolts Into Digital Monitoring Sensors
Sandvik has introduced digital systems that allow rock bolts used in underground mines to provide information on ground conditions. Mining operators can use the technology to gather additional data on ground behaviour through support infrastructure already installed underground. This reduces the need for separate monitoring equipment.
CMOC Deploys 623 MWp Solar and 1.8 GWh Battery Storage in DRC
CMOC is expanding renewable power infrastructure around its copper and cobalt operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The programme includes 623 MWp of solar capacity and 1.8 GWh of battery storage. The investment is aimed at strengthening electricity supply for its growing mining operations.

Second-quarter production reached 16,980 tonnes, an increase of 24% year on year. The increase was supported by the continued ramp-up of the sulphide ore processing facilities and higher mining activity. Ore mined in the second quarter rose to 898,217 tonnes. MMG is also developing the Kinsevere Expansion Project, which is designed to extend the mine’s life and support annual copper cathode production of 65,000 to 75,000 tonnes in 2026.
