Reunert, the JSE-listed technology and industrial group, has unveiled plans to consolidate its subsidiaries IQbusiness and +OneX, aiming to establish a unified, client-centric IT integration business.
Operating under Reunert ICT’s Solutions and Systems Integration cluster since July 2023, both IQbusiness and +OneX will merge under a single brand to create a digital integrator within Reunert ICT. This strategic move will amalgamate technology services, consulting, insights, solutions, and managed services under one entity, boasting a level-1 B-BBEE certification, as stated in Reunert’s announcement on Wednesday.
Adam Craker, CEO of IQbusiness, will spearhead the combined entity, while Rob Godlonton, founder and CEO of +OneX, will assume the position of Chief Commercial Officer. René Bredenkamp from +OneX will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer within the new organization.
The merger process is underway, focusing on streamlining client-facing activities, market strategies, and internal systems and processes, according to Reunert.
Godlonton expressed optimism about the merger’s potential to expand career opportunities for teams and bolster the South African business and technology services sector. He outlined plans to enhance the company’s local and international presence, emphasizing its commitment to delivering end-to-end technology solutions.
Graeme Eddey, CEO of Reunert ICT segment, highlighted the rapid pace of digitalization and the company’s proactive response to meet evolving client needs. The merger aims to enhance scale and capabilities to deliver greater value to clients.
Reunert group CEO Alan Dickson underscored the strategic significance of the merger, framing it as a key growth initiative for the company’s ICT segment.
The finalization of the merger is contingent upon the fulfilment of specific suspensive conditions, including obtaining board and shareholder approvals. The decision on implementation is expected in the coming months.
Upon completion, the combined businesses will boast a workforce of nearly 1,500 individuals, poised to deliver comprehensive IT solutions to clients both locally and internationally.
