Gauteng Goes Mini in September

MINI Aiming for Maxi Convoy:

The Iconic Mini is set to take centre stage on the roads of Gauteng mid-September this year with a planned Mini Tour for Mini Owners and fans. All drivers of MINIs young and old are invited to join what is expected to be the biggest convoy of MINIs to hit South African roads on Sunday, 14 September 2025.

The event will start at the BMW x Drive Park in Midrand, where drivers are requested to arrive before 08:30, before driving in convoy to The Ground in Muldersdrift on Gauteng’s West Rand at 09:30. At The Ground, these cars – ranging from classic Minis to the new MINI family – will recreate the iconic MINI wordmark. Furthermore, MINI owners will be able to explore various activations and enjoy the day with fellow MINI family members.

The first locally assembled Mini in South Africa was produced on December 21, 1959 with a total of 92 891 classic mini’s sold over the period ( this includes the 1275E variant). Production was ended in 1983.

The MINI Breakfast Drive honours the cultural MINI moments of community, lifestyle and individuality. It’s about demonstrating MINI’s “We are all different, but pretty good together” philosophy.
