South African Fuel price Adjustments Effective Tomorrow (3 June)
The fuel levy reduction measures taken by the South African government over the past few months will fall away tomorrow and despite cute old prices reducing, will see some fuel prices increase, bringing more strain on both consumer and corporate budgets. The Automobile Association (AA) has been consistently critical of the partial removal of the temporary fuel levy relief. In recent months, AA CEO Bobby Ramagwede has expressed disappointment that the government is placing additional pressure on already strained households, workers, and businesses. He has repeatedly called for government to do more to ease the burden on motorists.
